Kolt's new tricks, Vi's new skills, First Family bike ride

Here he is crawling, sitting up, clapping, and most likely trying to get to the stairs.  I included the picture of the top of his head because I still can't believe I have a child with reddish brown hair!  My side of the family is mostly Blondie's with the exception of Two of my Dad's brothers- Uncle Art and Uncle David who has two daughter with gorgeous strawberry blond hair and apparently my paternal great grandmother did too.  That red hair gene sure is tough!  No red-- that I know of Mike's side of the family.

Vi trying out her new Tee! She has pretty good hand-eye coordination-she gets it from her Mom, hehehe

Vi asked if she could take some pictures with my camera and here are the results, I picked out my favorites.

The whole family went to playground to play, fun was had by most.

There is a little farm on the way out of the playground where you can feed goats and pigs.  The pigs were too hot (and stinky I might add) to get up and come over, but the goats were more than happy to get their 10 pieces of corn.  Vi had no fear of them.  I personally think they are a little sketchy with those crazy pupils!

Our first trip out with Kolt and Vi in the bike trailer.  Violet is almost to big to fit!  Kolt actually kept the helmet on the whole ride even when he could barely see!  He looked awful adorable in a pink flowery helmet.  They were so stinkin cute!  Vi wants to ride her bike next to us, but I am little nervous about her ability to stay on the side of the road so we will have to get out and practice some more......

This last photo is of Kolt playing with the helmet when we got back.  I went to put the helmet into the bike trailer and he pitched a fit until I gave it to him!  He must have played for 10 minutes with it on the floor, spinning, throwing, chewing, and hugging it!  Who knew bike helmets keep your brain safe AND entertained?
Little update on the kiddos for all their fans......

I don't know what synapse connected in this kid, but he is fired up!  In kind of weird coincidence he started crawling on Memorial Day, it just so happens,Violet started walking on Memorial Day when she was 15 months.  That alone demonstrates the completely different characters of these two little people.   It has taken him less than two weeks to start pulling himself up on EVERYTHING, sort of walking with one of those walker toys, trying to crawl up the stairs, waving bye, and clapping.  Gran Mary was here for a visit and he waved good-bye to her for his very first wave, awwwww.  He can also drink out of a sippy cup and we are pretty sure his clapping is sign  language for more food. Daddy was trying to teach him the sign for more, but it somehow ended up being clapping?  And Just today he was standing up holding onto a toy and let go for about 3 seconds!!!! He already has bruises on his legs and red mark on his forehead which I am sure are just the beginning of his injuries.  We are getting a taste of what it is going to be like with Kolt trying to get Vi's things, so far she is pretty patient, but she did say she wanted to take him back and get puppies shortly after he slimed one of her things.  I made the mistake of calling Kolt, "naughty nelson" when he was trying to get up the stairs so now Vi likes to chime in with it too!  On the bright side, he is WAY less whiny, clingy, and on top of me!  He now notices when Daddy leaves and is very upset about it when it happens--screaming!  Vi likes to scream back at him in an attempt to get him to stop sometimes it surprises him and he stops other times its just two kids screaming.  Vi likes to carry him too, Kolt tolerates it, but I am sure that will change.  He tried to get to the fan the other day and Vi carried him away from it so she is looking out for him which is very adorable.  I can see the mothering instinct kicking in, she is very caring in a bossy kind of way, no idea where she gets that from???  :)
