summer "vacation"

Our first stop on our trip to western NY and my side of the family was my sister in Rochester.  Vi was super-psyched to go to Aunt Liz's!  Aunt Liz lives in an apartment so that is an exciting adventure for her for some reason.

Kolt's first trip to a zoo.  I was amazed he was so interested in the animals even the barely moving rhinos held his attention.  I assumed, he would think it was just a great place to run (away from me).

The face painter at the zoo was either in a hurry or just plain un-talented.  I think Kalyssa is supposed to be a butterfly & Vi is a tiger.  Fortunately they are cute enough to pull off the shoddy workmanship.

Apparently Vi is ok with bees behind glass in any other circumstance she would scream & run frantically for the hills.

The Rare Vi Monarch

Even more rare the cooperative Kalyssa Monarch

She morphed from butterfly to turtle quite an amazing species.

Kolt sat still for the whole 10 minute seal feeding/behavioral act. They are not "tricks" they are behaviors, but it looked pretty tricky to me.

King Julien the Lemur!

Next stop Gran Mary & Papa Al's

Stony Brook with Uncle Tim, Bray, & Spense.  Grandma Waneta & Papa Al had some ice cream and headed home before the rest of us hit the gorge trail.

Bray, the ever watchful older cousin.  A natural at loving her little cousins & keeping a close eye on them.
Which was completely necessary or Kolt would have impaled or injured himself and everyone around him!

Kolt gave Bray many unsolistited kisses, but when I got the camera out he decided to be a stinker so she took matters into her own hands.

The coveted lawn mower.  I think they spent 3 hours riding on the mower picking up gold balls in the weeds.  Spense hits lots of shots trying to make them into the pond.

Bray's photos (the next 3)

Our trip ended where it began in Rochester with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese.   On a rainy day, the best way to tire out a little boy before a 4 hour trip home.  He never stopped!

Kolt and Kai dancing.  In front of the lemur enclosure, who wouldn't Move it, Move it??
