Next, on our way to Spense's little league game! Kai and Violet had more fun eating concession stand food and running in circles than watching the game. Spense played really well.
At the end of the game the boys and coaches (one being my brother Tim) huddle up and do a cheer(not like a girly cheer). I thought they yelled fire ants, but they were playing the Pirates so that is clearly what was they yelled which makes wayyyy more sense than fire ants. Ever since I said it, Vi keeps saying Spenser's team is the fire ants. Just now as I was posting these photos she saw them and said, "there is Spenser and the fire ants."
Our last stop of the day was the Alfred University Senior Art Shows. None of the kids had ever been to the AU Senior shows. Since I grew up in Alfred and spent time in Harder Hall where my Dad worked for many years seeing the crazy art was just a part of life. I then went to college at AU so I have been exposed to fine arts since I was a wee-tot. Not to mention my BFF Amanda (now known as Noah's Mom) expertly exhibited her her senior show a scant 11 years ago--seems like yesterday.
The quote of the trip came from Violet. We had spent about an hour walking through Harder Hall and then Davis Gym looking at all the work. We were walking out the door feeling like great parents exposing our young child & nieces to a little artistic creativity that she will not experience in the town we live now. Then Violet says to her Dad, "when are we going to the Art Show?" Time and energy well spent.
I apologize--I didn't intentionally post some of these photos on their sides for some reason blogger rotated them????
Last but not least a trip on the mower. Bray must get her driving skills from her Dad since her Mom drove into a ditch on a straight stretch of road on a nice sunny day not too long ago.....:)
