As with the viking tradition the shoulder armor was created from the breast plates of her Great Grandmother Agnes the AngloAvenger. She was an ample women.
Her tunic painted from crushed berries and slate dust & water. This was after I had already made a green & brown one, but was met with utter disapproval, it was therefore scrapped. Her arms bands (not shown in photograph) were skillfully made from cotton fibers loomed to perfection and sewn with the sinew of the same cow previously mentioned.
And yes, a horse was killed to glue the skulls. It was an old weak and sick horse who was honored to live on in the armor of such a revered warrior.
The Final Product, Violet the Viking and her dragon Aqua. (or Astrid Hofferson & her dragon Storm Fly from the 2010 movie How to Train your Dragon) She was most pleased with my efforts and it even a garnered a compliment of, "Nice Job" and a hug.
The quest was a huge success as many sugary treats were devoured.

The reprise of the duck costume which Violet wore when she was a baby. Camden was quackers for it!

Spiderman! Or SpiderMan Boy as Kolt told us to call him. I had gone out to buy the costume after he gone to bed one night. He woke me up at 5:45 am the next morning asking where his spiderwebs were. He has worn the costume for weeks. Little strings and fuzz are popping out everywhere.
Downtown always has an event which we attended to get the most wear out these costumes....I mean..... so the kids could have fun. :)
This picture was taken after the sword incident, she was pretty traumatized. At least Grandma Pat is smiling!
Violet with her favorite girls at a school event. Vi LOVES these sweet little girls. Mike and I are super thankful she has good taste in friends just like her super wicked smart parents. We like their parents too so we can't possibly be wrong.
Off to school & preschool for Halloween Day! If you are keeping track this is the 3rd time wearing the costumes and we still have not even got to trick or treating!
Here we are at Vi's school for the Halloween Parade. Aunt Mel and Grandma Pat kept track of the duck so Kolt & I could sit on the floor right up front and some how Kolt still didn't see Violet!
Jameson (another fine chosen friend) is the landshark! HA!!!!His Mom tells me this was his idea, next stop SNL!
Violet informed us afterwards the little boy next to her is a dragon so that is why he HAD to walk next to her.
THE END of our Halloween 2012!!!! The duck tuckered out & fell asleep trick or treating just like his sister did when she was a little duck. It is hard being fowl.......
