Better Late Than Never

 We made a trip to my parent's house to celebrate my brother's milestone 40th birthday the last week in January.  I knew he would make it to 40 despite my parent's saying he was lucky to make it past 21....:)Also, my neice Kai turned 5 in January as well. Uncle Tim, Bray and Spense had not met their new cousin Camden either so we made the 5 hour trek with only one stop to nurse.  Our first trip in the mini-van, strong winds & blinding snow threatened, but we were triumphant!

 Cousin Brayanna and Cam got to bonding and he loves loved loved her, but who wouldn't. :)

Great Grandma Waneta got these Matryoshka dolls for Vi for Christmas.  Grandma has a set at her house that Vi loves to play with every time we go there.  These dolls made it all the way from Russia in a half open cardboard box barely tied up.  And then one of the smaller dolls met the fate of Papa Al's foot and somehow survived after minor surgery. 

Kai wanted to hold Cam every second and if she wasn't holding him she was touching him.  She was super gentle and careful with her new little cousin.

YES! SNOW!  We had to go sledding before it all melted so we knew we had only hours.....

Kolt's first time on a sled!  Unfortunately, he bit it a couple of times and the snow flew right into his face!  He was a trooper and got right back on the sled!

I don't know who made this ploppy looking cake, but they need to work on their cake baking skills!

Kai is not a big fan of cake so she opted for an ice cream cake.
