Vi had her very first swim class this past week--called Pike with Parent. The Parent being Mike. I took my camera with the intention of capturing her swimming like Dara Torres! Unfortunately, I was the only "extra" parent there so I felt a little weird busting the camera out like a crazy over-zealous Mom. And its hard to swim with two hands firmly gripping Dad's chest hair!
Anyways, Vi has an adversity to getting her face in the water so I had very low expectations of her participating in any active way-- this being the first class. I had visions of her sitting on the edge with her arms crossed. She surprised me with her openness to blowing bubbles in the pool, putting each of cheeks in (on her face that is) the water, and floating on her back albeit with a death grip on her Dad's neck!
I am very hopeful that she will be swimming like a Pike without her Parent soon....
