If you are not interested in bathroom talk, skip this paragraph.
Violet has been using the potty night and day since April with maybe 10 accidents--total. It seems like she was never in diapers. A couple of weeks ago she pooped in the potty turned around looked at it and said, "Mom I pooped a spaceship!" Then it was a week or so later she did the same thing, but this time it was a "rainbow spaceship." Her imagination has no boundries.
Other things out of her Mouth lately:
"You are not my Mom--You are nobody!" When I wouldn't give her a turn with the TV. I wasn't prepared for the you're not my Mom for a few years yet, but might as well get it out of the way.
"Bees eat polish" So close...
She thinks Mike's friend Pat should be everywhere we are. He has been helping Mike with some renovation at the house. We pull into the driveway, "I don't see Pat's car." We go to Lowes, "Where's Pat?" He even made it into a story she made up about a Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Bubba (our dog), Pat and a dragon on a road.
"Mom, I don't have energy to take a nap." I talk about good food giving her energy to run & play. I didn't know it could be turned into an excuse.
I was cleaning the house, apparently our maid is out of town-as always. Violet is playing in the livingroom, comes into the kitchen and asks what I am doing so I tell her. She says, "you are doing a good job." It made me smile--not as much as having a maid would, but close.
Violet has just started showing interest in letters. Her absolute favorite letter at the moment is "T for Tim." As in my brother Uncle Tim. She can't say the letter T without saying for Tim! She makes T's for Tim out of sticks, markers, really anything straight. I love it.
Last but not least. I have a little head cold. The first thing she said this morning, "Mommy are you feeling better?" What a sweetheart, it makes up for the eyebrow furrowing, finger pointing, hand on hip, tightlipped tantrums or least makes them a little less frustrating.
