Mother's Day and ECHO

Violet was the perfect daughter on Mother's Day as perfect as a two-year old can be with 13 red-itchy inflamed mosquito bites on her face, hands, & neck, and with a dose of benedryl causing her head to spin 360 degrees. I will spare you all the graphic details. Yet again, she redeemed herself as being wicked adorable by saying, "thank you Mommy making my boo-boos feel better," after applying hydrocortizone. Once again later in day after seeing a TV commercial for E.T. she said, E.T. was a small dinosaur that gave him a hug to make him feel better. Soooooo cute!

Aunty Lynley & staff made a fabulous Mother's Day brunch---THANK YOU!

Violet got me beautiful earrings for my special day. I really didn't need any gift to remind me how lucky I am to be her Mom, but it helps these days to have a nice shiny reminder. For instance, this week when NO means, yes, maybe, I hate you, I love you, get away from me, pick me up, and is accompanied by awkward facial expressions, high pitched sounds, whining, crying, laughing, and some sort of noodley body contortions.

Last weekend Aunty Jodi visited so we packed up to head to VT to see BabyNoah. We played at the park, Violet tortured their cat, and we spent time adoring the baby. We also headed to the Echo Museum for some Lake Champlain education. Vi had fun seeing all the frogs, turtles, fish, and snakes. Violet actually touched a star fish which I am told by the staff that is not a fish ---the proper name is Sea Star, so even Mommy learned something new( like to restrain myself from saying something sarcastic to the condescending Sea Star professional). Violet could not leave the museum without an injury so she fell off "Champ" and got a nice rug burn on her head.
